Our first career Lieutenant/Paramedic to introduce is Marie Balak!
Lt./Paramedic Marie Goltara Balak recently relocated to the area with her husband following his decorated career as a Navy aviator. A proud mother of a young son, Marie is excited to bring her incredibly diverse skill set to South Pend Oreille Fire & Rescue.
Marie has worked in professional emergency management and brings more than a decade of service with Gainesville Fire Rescue in Gainesville, Florida. Chief Stocking previously worked alongside Marie in Gainesville and can personally attest that she is an outstanding firefighter—and, as he likes to say, much smarter than he is.
Welcome to the area and welcome to SPOFR, Marie! She is assigned to City of Newport Station 11 on C Shift.
