South Pend Oreille Fire & Rescue is proud to welcome our newest Lieutenants following the successful completion of Lieutenant Orientation Week 2026.
Please join us in welcoming Lieutenant Marie Balak, Lieutenant Jeff Littlefield, and Lieutenant Steven Bailey to their new leadership roles within the organization. They join Lieutenant Jeff Borrero, who was promoted last year and participated in this year’s orientation program as part of the department’s ongoing leadership development efforts.
Together, these officers bring more than 60 years of combined professional fire service experience to SPOFR, representing agencies from three different states. Throughout the week, they participated in intensive training and leadership development designed to prepare them for their leadership responsibilities. The training was exceptional, and they are ready to serve the residents and visitors of our district immediately.
The week concluded with an evening of family, fellowship, and appreciation at a SPOFR family dinner. A special thank you goes to Lieutenant Jeff Borrero for preparing the meal and helping make the event a memorable success.
As our Lieutenants begin their assignments on A, B, and C shifts this week, we look forward to introducing them to the community. Watch for upcoming staff spotlights and biographies as we share more about the experience, backgrounds, and commitment these public service leaders bring to South Pend Oreille Fire & Rescue.
Please join us in congratulating Lieutenants Balak, Bailey, and Littlefield on their promotions and welcoming them to their new leadership roles. We also extend our appreciation to Lieutenant Jeff Borrero for his participation in the orientation program and his continued leadership within the organization.
