SPOFR responded to a brush fire on an inaccessible finger of Bead Lake. With fire conditions becoming increasingly dangerous, SPOFR had to utilize local watercraft to transport personnel and water to the incident. We want to thank our neighbors at Bead Lake for graciously shuttling our crews and supplies. Additional acknowledgment to our partners from the Kalispel Tribe and the USFS for sending crews to assist, including Kalispel Tribe Chief Scott Doughty. This example of neighbors helping neighbors exemplifies what we love about Pend Oreille County!
