It’s back-to-school time again this year, and Stratton Elementary School needs your support. Stratton Elementary students are at the 67% poverty level, which makes buying school supplies for larger families an overwhelming burden.
So this year, South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue is partnering with Stratton Elementary School, Mountain West Bank, and WAFD Bank in Newport to collect needed school supplies. Stratton Principal Jenny Erickson provided a list of the following items as the most needed this year to include the following: Box of crayons, Washable Markers, Colored Pencils, Pencil Boxes, Glue Sticks, Ticonderoga Pencils, Water color paints, Student size scissors, and Pencil top erasers.
Please bring your donations to SPOFR’s 24/7 full-time Stations in Diamond Lake and Newport, Mountain West Bank, or WAFD Bank in Newport. SPOFR Chief Shane Stocking believes in the community coming together with their fire department to support our local community and local needs. “We have proven again and again that the whole of Pend Oreille County is greater than the individual, and SPOFR loves to partner with our local businesses and schools to do the best we can for our neighbors.
