South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue continues the volunteer appreciation program called SPOFR Volunteer Spotlight. This is a way to recognize the volunteers when you see them in the community grocery store or at any local activities.

June 2024 Volunteer Spotlight

David Williams, Captain and Advanced EMT

This month’s Spotlight Volunteer of the Month is David Williams, who has been with South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue for 20 years. He is currently the volunteer Station Captain at Station 33 in Deer Valley. He is an Advanced EMT and Firefighter. David also works at the Newport Hospital Emergency Room as an ER Tech on the night shift because he likes to take care of people.

When asked what he likes best about South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue, David said, “I like the camaraderie at SPOFR. This is the most rewarding thing I’ve done in my career.”

SPOFR Chief Dan Williams said, “We appreciate the wealth of information and experience that David brings to our organization as volunteer Station Captain and Advanced EMT. He always has something to share at our meetings and training sessions, and we are honored to have his service.”
