South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue is pleased to announce the promotion of Brad Martin, former Assistant Chief to SPOFR Fire Chief.

Brad is replacing Chief Mike Nokes, who has served as SPOFR Fire Chief for the past 12 years and has accepted a position with Spokane Fire District 4. The staff and volunteers will miss Chief Nokes for his service and dedication as they welcome their new Chief.

Brad has been with SPOFR for the past 12 years, starting as a captain for Station 35 and progressing to Assistant Chief for the past 5 years. He is also a Wild Land Fire Strike Team Leader and a structural protection specialist.

Brad was associated with Spokane Community College as Lead Fire Science Instructor and remains a liaison with them. Brad also served with Spokane Fire 4 as Battalion Captain, Fire Captain, and Duty Captain.

Earlier in his career, Brad volunteered with Deer Park Ambulance for 12 years as an EMT.

Brad is married to Tami and together they have 5 children.
