The fire and rescue service is one of the most diverse and challenging professions today. It is the diversity that inspires most men and women to enter the service both as volunteers and career employees. This business is not for everyone. You need more than just a desire to help people. You need courage and dedication, assertiveness, and a willingness to learn new skills and face new challenges. Our service is one that calls on its members to perform hot, sweaty, dirty, and strenuous work, often in uncertain and hazardous environment. The personal rewards and satisfaction received from the fire and rescue service are often beyond description. We are here and prepared for one reason, and that is to provide service to the people.

In addition to our “Combat Firefighters” we have many opportunities for members of our community to be a member of the Fire District. We are active in Fire Prevention Education and Preplanning and need community members with life experiences and skills that will add to the safety of our community. Join the Volunteer Fire Service, have fun, meet new friends, and serve the community!

Click on one of the PDF files at the right to download, complete, print and sign a SPOFR Volunteer Application. The first was designed for those who would like to complete the application by hand; the second has form fields to allow for computer data entry using Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Both require printout after completion in order to add the required signatures.

Thank you,
