South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue is starting a new volunteer appreciation program called SPOFR Volunteer Spotlight. This is a way to recognize our volunteers when you see them in the community, at the grocery store or any local activities. Chief Mike Nokes

DECEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Corey Toombs Firefighter
Corey Toombs
FIREFIGHTER
Sacheen Lake Station

Our second volunteer to be recognized in December is Corey Toombs, a single father of a 12-year-old son. Corey has been a volunteer firefighter with SPOFR for two years. He has a CLASS A CDL, so he is very capable of driving our engines and tenders. He also was on two wildland fire teams this past summer in Colville and the Wagner fire. In addition, Corey is currently attending our SPOFR EMT class and is the resident firefighter at Station 32 in Sacheen Lake. Congratulations Corey on being our December Volunteer Spotlight recipient.
