Mason's Plaque Dedication

March 16, 2007

The weekend of the 16th of March Pend Oreille County Fire District No. 3 took another big step in the completion of the new Fire station at Sacheen Lake. The district hosted a ceremony that dedicated the cornerstone plaque that was donated to the fire district by the Newport Lodge of the Free Mason’s. Using the same ceremony George Washington used to lay the cornerstone of the United States Capital over 200 years ago, the Mason’s dedicated the plaque that was placed near the entry of the building. The dedication was attended by over 30 people from the fire department, the Masonic Lodge and the community. After the dedication, a lunch was served at the Newport Lodge.
