A Pend Oreille Valley Foundation 2008 Grant Award Provided Partial Funding for this Fire Prevention and Life Safety Online Workshop
Our Partnership Benefits the Youth of the Pend Oreille Valley "To maximize the positive impact our community donations have on our region, Ponderay Newsprint Company, Mountain West Bank and Teck Cominco American, Inc. have joined together and jointly funded the Pend Oreille Valley Foundation. Students and adults from Pend Oreille Valley make up the Foundations Board of Directors. The board meets four times annually to review applications. Any request for funding that will benefit the youth of the Pend Oreille Valley will qualify for consideration. Grant applications re available at Mountain West Bank in Newport and Ponderay Newsprint Company in Usk." |

This workshop was funded in part by a 2008 Pend Oreille Valley Foundation Grant in support of a pilot project targeting fire prevention and life safety issues for fourth grade students. Project objectives included further development of the "Fire Safe Kids Club" online activities and school demonstrations currently being provided by South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue. |
