SPOFR Photographers

Dennis and Cynthia Merritt are photographers who enjoy serving their local community. Dennis gave 22 years to the railroad and decided that retirement was too boring so attended Spokane Falls Community College in the photography department. Now he is a freelance photographer specializing in sports events, weddings, senior pictures and landscape photography.

Cynthia has been in Washington for 12 years and has a photographer certification from Professional Career Development Institute. Her main passion is nature landscape but also does senior pictures, weddings, personal milestones and anything else her camera can capture.

Dennis and Cindy are volunteers for South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue and take pictures at fires, fire training and accidents. The purpose is to aid in training and to keep a pictorial history of South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue. Further, they provide pictures for the Miner Newspaper and sometimes submit articles to fire photography online magazines. The pictures are provided here on the SPOFR Web site so all may learn from and enjoy the view from the camera’s eye.

2007 Community Volunteers of the Year Awarded to POFD3 Photographers Dennis and Cynthia Merritt

Pend Oreille County Fire District No. 3 Volunteer Photographers Dennis and Cindy Merritt were were named the Community Volunteers of the Year for 2007 by the Board of Commissioners at the district's Awards Dinner held at the Sacheen Lake Station on January 29, 2008.
