- EMS Week

  Fire-wise Programs

  Public Relations Events

Under the direction of Chief Mark Havener, South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue program workshops are developed by the Public Education Team based on the following five-step plan.

Identification of the most important local fire, burn and all other risk problems.

Selection of the biggest risks that can be reduced by public effort.  This

includes the identification and selection of target audiences and high risk

groups.

Program development designed to fit the audience and meet attainable

objectives.

Implementation of the education program according to plan with the flexibility

to meet the changing needs of the community.

Program evaluation for the purpose of continuous improvement.

The public education effort is geared to all risk hazards in order to promote a safer community.
